25 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 2

I have much for which to be thankful. This year, I’m going to remind myself of 25 of them – each day leading up to Thanksgiving Day.

Today is Election Day in the United States of America. It is also day two of my 25 days of Thanksgiving.

Today I am thankful for the right to vote. I didn’t do anything to earn this right except turn 18 years of age after being born in the United States.

But men like Private Ed Blonski fought and bled on the beaches of Normandy and the forests of Belgium so that I could both be born and vote!

I will not let his sacrifice be in vain.

I am thankful that today – because of him and the men and women who wore the uniform of the United States of American – I can walk up to the poll and cast a ballot for those men and women I feel have the integrity and honesty to serve this great nation.

Normandy is not just a day, you are so right I am thankful for all the people who were willing and have died to give us the right and freedom I enjoy today. It is so said to see how many will not vote today... How everyone is taking every right for granted. Thank you for reminding us.
